I’ve developed this relationship words. Their use, spelling, connotation, fonts, typefaces, visual presence, and their many meanings. I had my actual first conversation about words and the dictionary not too long ago and was blown away by what I learned. Words are the most powerful thing in the world. They can do ANYTHING, and it’s all the way that you decide to use them. They World is in your hand as long as you know how to use your words to your advantage.
Calligraphy is simply artistic, stylized, or elegant handwriting or lettering. When I write, I like for my letters to have some kind of origin whether it be Copperplate, English Italics, Gothic… even my own handwriting looks similar to Graffiti. The slow sounds of songs from my Seu Jorge pandora station usually compliment the mood. There’s a peace that comes with the slow pace of calligraphic forms. My aim is to do a piece in calligraphy 1-3 times a week in hopes to broaden my variety in Style.
